Building Business, Building Community:
The Story of Alvin Perez

IMG_6083_edited_edited.jpg

In Nicaragua, economic challenges are a daily reality, but so is resilience. Among those leading change is Alvin Perez, a dedicated entrepreneur and visionary. His company, Jenny Productions, named after his mother, is more than just a business—it’s a platform for impact.

In 2018, amidst a major political uprising that shook the country, Alvin and his family felt a deep calling to realign their lives and business for a greater purpose. Rather than retreat in uncertainty, they chose to dedicate their efforts to serving their community and using their resources to expand the reach of the Kingdom of God.

Jenny Productions, a successful retail enterprise, operates in a major city where Alvin has built a thriving business despite the economic instability. But his vision extends beyond financial success. He provides employment opportunities, sponsors local soccer teams, and invites players into his ministry space for age-appropriate activities and Bible studies. More than that, he invests in the coaches, mentoring them to become leaders both on and off the field.

His story is a powerful example of what happens when business and purpose align. He and his family have faced years of uncertainty and hardship, yet their determination to serve others has only grown stronger.

At Manna Business Collective, we believe in supporting visionaries like Alvin—leaders who don’t just build businesses but create lasting change in their communities. His journey is a testament to the power of entrepreneurship when combined with faith, resilience, and a commitment to something greater than oneself.

Empowering the Next Generation: The Story of Futuro Panama

At Manna Business Collective, we believe that emerging talent exists everywhere—ready to take on challenges and thrive. The key is finding a way to reach and empower that talent.

Kenny Kinch, a graduate of Harding University, grew up in Panama and was fortunate to receive the opportunity to pursue higher education in the United States. When he returned home, he realized the immense value of his education—but also recognized that many aspiring entrepreneurs in Panama would never have the same opportunity. Determined to bridge this gap, he approached Manna Business Collective with a vision. With our support, he launched Futuro Panama.

Futuro Panama is dedicated to equipping young entrepreneurs with the practical business training they need to succeed. Through a weekend seminar, students—selected in partnership with local schools—are mentored by successful entrepreneurs and leaders. They gain real-world insights, hands-on learning experiences, and, by the end of the weekend, take on a challenge: develop a business idea and present it. The best ideas are recognized and awarded, but the true prize is the empowerment and confidence these students gain.

For two years, Futuro Panama has been providing these life-changing opportunities. It’s more than just a seminar—it’s a stepping stone for young entrepreneurs who otherwise might not have access to this level of training and mentorship.

At Manna Business Collective, we believe in empowerment—not just through financial support, but by investing in visionaries like Kenny who are creating pathways for others to succeed. His story is a testament to the impact of education, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to building a stronger future.

Empowering Dreams: Epiphanio and Jessenia’s Journey

IMG_6083_edited_edited.jpg

Over the years, the missionary work of Manna Global Missions in the Dominican Republic has evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves. The team remains committed to discerning what is best for each cultural moment.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Manna Global Missions took the opportunity to realign its efforts to best serve the next era of growth and transformation. It was during this time, in 2023, that Epiphanio and Jessenia joined the team. Leaving behind the urban energy of Santiago, they moved with their family to the small fishing city of Río San Juan, driven by a calling to serve the Kingdom of God. Along with their dreams for a brighter future for their country, they also brought their screen printing business—an enterprise intertwined with their vision for impact.

For Epiphanio and Jessenia, this business was more than just a means of financial support. They saw it as a way to provide sustainable income for themselves and those they employed, while also using it as a tool for empowerment. Their mission extended beyond profits; they wanted to offer the children of Río San Juan and the Manna Children’s Home—an orphanage nearby—practical skills to help them navigate life’s challenges.

In a region where limited resources and educational barriers often prevent students from pursuing higher education, equipping young people with practical business skills is transformative. By learning the trade of screen printing and the business skills that go along with it, these children gain valuable, hands-on experience that offers them hope for a future beyond their current circumstances. More importantly, being mentored by Epiphanio and Jessenia means being surrounded by faith, encouragement, and the hope of Jesus.

Manna Business Collective exists to uplift entrepreneurs like Epiphanio and Jessenia, ensuring that their businesses thrive so they can, in turn, lift others. By investing in their vision, we are not only strengthening a business but also fostering a ripple effect of empowerment, sustainability, and faith throughout the community.
